The task of the MTU Electricity/Gas is the continuous monitoring of wholesale electricity and gas markets. On the one hand, this includes the monitoring of all trades with wholesale electricity products, on the other the monitoring of electricity production and power plant usage.
By monitoring the energy wholesale markets the MTU Electricity/Gas will contribute to a transparent and competitive price formation.
The tasks of the MTU Electrictiy/Gas are carried out jointly by the Bundesnetzagentur and the Bundeskartellamt.
